House Insurance

House insurance is a collective term used to describe the various types of insurance policies that can be bought for your property. There are two distint types of insurance that can be bought, buildings insurance and contents insurance. You may purchase buildings and contents insurance together or separately. Typically, if you purchase these products together from the same provider, they will give you a discount on the monthly premium, sometimes as much as 10%.

House insurance is sometimes referred to as home insurance, and generally refers to any type of insurance that is used to protect your house in the event that it is damaged or has any of its contents stolen. Increasingly, people are insuring against a temporary loss of income, thus ensuring that their mortgage will be paid during periods of unemployment.
